Icelandic horse meat

Gunnar invited us over for dinner tonight. He cooked horse meat, which I had never tried before. The meat was salty but it went really well with the sweet white sauce. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to try horse, but it was fantastic!

And after dinner, we picked rhubarb from the garden and Gunnar made a delicious desert with marshmallows and ice cream. Thanks for the wonderful meal, Gunnar!

The rhubarb, and marshmallow... sounds interesting!!! What was the recipe? Was the marshmallow a replacement for sugar and used to 煮込むthe rhubarb.

Def. share dishes and recipes from all the countries.

Another BTW, how much longer are you gonna be in Iceland?

It was sweet and sour. Rhubarb is sour but it went really well with the marshmallows. The marshmallows weren't a replacement for sugar -- I think that's just how they make the dish. It's really simple. Peel the rhubarb, throw some marshmallows on top, sprinkle cinnamon, and put it in the oven for a few minutes.
